Company Profile

"The ascent to the top never ends, we can only continue to lead by being the best at what we do, and continually looking for ways to improve and be even better"

HM Plant opened its doors for the first time in 1979 with a promise to become the leading name in Excavators in the UK, by delivering the best in quality, reliability, product and product support for the new and used markets. Within their first year, HM Plant went from being a sub-dealer to distributing Hitachi's range of hydraulic excavators to being appointed Hitachi’s official UK importer in 1980.

HM Plant - Company Profile

Originally based in Somerset, HM Plant moved to a purpose-built seven acre site at Hebburn, South Tyneside in 2004 to allow easier distribution and cost effectiveness via the North Sea from Amsterdam, Oosterhout and Japan. Following huge investment, their headquarters are now a statement for the values and work ethics that has made HM Plant's trade name synonymous within the construction industry. The premises provides the platform to continue producing the best machinery, allowing the company to continue to develop the most forward thinking ideas and turn them into reality.

Now a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Construction Machinery Europe (since April 2007), HM Plant supplies; mini, medium, large and wheeled excavators, wheeled loaders, crawler carriers, dump trucks, parts, servicing and 24-hour support 7 days a week to the UK and Irish construction industry, with national coverage from its eleven depots and appointed sub-dealers in Ireland.

Thirty years in the making, their success and ability to stand the test of time have been rewarded with the coveted title of "UK's number one excavator supplier" no fewer than 26 out of 30 years of trading.
