Im DIgging The Animal Print
Potter Plant Hire have been going since the mid-90s, when Giles Potter started his business with one machine. Now they have over 35, and have been choosing HM Plant's Hitachi machines since 2004. Giles says it's the reliability and re-sale value that keeps them coming back.
We're not quite sure whether he's increased or decreased the re-sale value of his latest machine though, because he's had it painted like a zebra!
Giles tells us that the general feedback seems to be that it's a brilliant idea. However, the question “why?!” is never far behind the compliments.
The answer goes to show you're never too young to be a marketing genius, as it all started with a suggestion from Giles' 11 year old daughter, Hannah.
The zebra coloured ZX140W has already caught the eyes of passing drivers as it works on the A1 upgrade at Dishforth and has generated plenty of phone calls.
So, with all the interest and publicity it's generated for Potter Plant Hire, what next? A giraffe? Maybe a nice leopard print?
"Well," says Giles, "there are no plans at the moment... but you never know!"
